Wait, what? It's FALL?

Our sweet gum in the back yard turned a gorgeous shade of red this year. It's getting tall, next year it should reach higher than the house.

We still have green tomatoes in the garden - I do not think those will survive to turn red, and I can not get my family to eat them fried and green. For that matter, I don't much care for them that way either. Peppers - those I have pureed and frozen for use in the winter.

Good sleeping weather too. I like the cold for sleeping with the quilt that was a wedding present from the spouse's parents. This time of year the cats are cozier as well, snuggling at times.

Three large pumpkins decorate our front stoop, and those should be carved this week.
