Horatio Hornblower by Forrester
I have read

Lieutenant Hornblower
Hornblower and the Hotspur
Hornblower and the Atropos (which I am currently reading)
and
Beat to Quarters.

I have Mr. Midshipman Hornblower to read next.

Somewhere I have Commodore Hornblower in hardback. Must find it.

These are good books. I am enjoying them very much.

Thanks to Electroweak and the Otaklaus for lending them!

Is the influence on Star Trek really apparent in those books?

I think so.

Really.

Maybe the only truly witty thing Dave Merrill ever said was in a review of "Master And Commander" when he called it "...the best Star Trek movie I have seen in awhile..." or something like that. =D

Hmmm.

I did like Master and Commander a lot too. Hadn't noticed the similarities before.

Do you like Honor Harrington also?

Those are okay. I did like them.

But I do think the Hornblower books are better written.

And I'm really enjoying the nautical information I've been getting.
